Welcome To Sandford Kennels
Sandford Kennels was formed in 1975 by Mike Beresford.
Mike began by training Labradors and Springer Spaniels purely for his
own enjoyment.
The next eighteen years were spent picking up on numerous shoots in
Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire. In 1987 the first
Cocker came into the kennels and from then until today Cockers have
been Mike's life. In 1993 a Cocker pup named Kigaro Minnie
was purchased and the rest, as they say, is history.
By careful and selective breeding Sandford Cockers have helped to keep
traditional lines going in the breed. Today Mike and Caroline
run Sandford Kennels in North Derbyshire. Their aim is to produce
Cockers for the future based on traditional
bloodlines where stamp, confirmation and true Cocker hunting patterns
are paramount.
A limited number of puppies and part-trained dogs may be available in
2010, although there is often a waiting list. One-to-one and
group training is also availablr on selected dates this year.
